The Avalanches. Possibly Australia’s most innovative, eclectic & infuriating acts of the last 20 years. Citing influences as broad as DJ Shadow, Beastie Boys, Mogwai and B-Grade movie soundtracks they completely changed the Aussie music landscape in 2000 with their slick, sample laden debut LP, ‘Since I left you’ ..and then promptly disappeared.
Rumours of album no. 2 have started up again this week and it’s looking more likely than ever that we may just hear new tunes from one of my FAVOURITE bands in the not too distant future… in the meantime, enjoy this stand out track as you descend into the weekend.
